Swiss Surfing Championship
News from our last mission with Christian Surfers Switzerland at the national championships in Spain.

It was a real blessing for us as GoTeam to be there. Especially because it's a goal of ours to support each other. Yes the fact that we were able to surf was pleasing too. Check out below, what CS reported about the event.

Swiss Surfing Championships in Zarautz

It's been our dream for several years to serve the swiss surfing community at the national championships. Year after year, Eric (founder of CS Switzerland) and a couple of his friends have been competing at the contest, they are known in the small surfing community and have been recognized as christian surfers.

After the last year's effort to send a team has failed, we succeeded to go to the Spanish Basque Country where the championships were held. During the two contest days we were at least five people, at times even ten! Ten christian surfers in a crowd of about 50 people gave us a visible impact at the contest. The three organizers were very glad for our help by building up and breaking down the equipment needed. For years it was just for the three guys doing all the work, now they had a lot of co-workers, sent by Jesus. What a testimony to them! Right away they appointed one of our fellows to do the job as Beach Marshall. Together with CS friends of the basque country we provided small refreshments at the beach for all surfers. The people loved our presence, hung out at our tent and good conversations took place. Besides serving, our three outstanding CS surfers placed 5th, 9th and 13th at the championships.
The outreach showed, that we can impact the surfing world in the seen and unseen. God gave us a heart to reach out to those people, but we have also encountered resistance. We got robbed, cars got damaged and friends have been physically attacked. We are praying for protection and more people to join us actively in CS Switzerland to deepen our friendship with the people of the swiss surfing association. We ca not wait to go back to Spain in 2012 to show the love of our big God to a small surf community.

I grew up in YWAM mostly in Hawaii and on the ships. I also spent some time at the base in Lausanne. I now live in Virginia with my family but I am planning a trip to Europe in mid-June. I was wondering if you wouls have any space available for us to stay for a night. There are five of us. The kids are 17, 14 and 12. we would come in from Paris about June 13th and leave the next day for Venice. Thanks for your consideration.
